One of the trends we can expect for baby boys is names led by the letter 'E'.
While it seems random, it's not at all – it turns out parents are already embracing this new trend.
Baby Center recently released a report into the Top Baby Names of 2024 and there are plenty of 'E' names creeping up the ranks – including one name that's jumped into the Top 1000 for the first time ever.

Emrys
For parents looking for a name that nails the unique and cool vibes, you cannot go past Emrys.
The name is of Welsh origin, meaning "immortal", and has been rising up the ranks. It has shot to Number 954, according to Baby Center, securing a space in the Top 1000 for the first time ever.
Emir
The name Emir means "prince, ruler" and a fairly popular Arabic boys name in countries like Turkey.
It can be a title of honour in Arabic-speaking nations, too.
Enrique
When it comes to less popular choices, the name Enrique could be one for you.
It's a boy's name of Spanish origin, but has appeal that crosses borders, although it's not heard so much these days.
Elijah
When Baby Center released its Top 100 names, Elijah once again claimed fourth spot on the list – the same as last year.
It's become a really well loved name for boys, despite not really climbing back up the ranks until the 1960s.
It had a real surge of popularity in 1976 when Cher and Greg Allman named their son Elijah Blue and it's been a steady favourite since.
Edgar
For parents who want to mix trends, Edgar not only hits the 'E' trend but also the 'Croc Name' trend too.
Croc names are ones that were once so uncool, they've come back around and are becoming really cool; they could also be seen as 'diamond in the rough' names.
Edgar, which is of English origin meaning "wealthy spearman", is an old English name historically associated with the 10th-century English king known as Edgar the Peaceful – but it gives big cool vibes too.

In 2024 the name Ezra jumped up one place in the Top 10 names on the report, landing at Number 8.

Creeping back into the Top 100 names in 2024 was Easton, at number 92.
The name has a unique feel without being too out there for parents who want something a little bit different.
Everett
Another 'E' name that headed back into the Top 100 was Everett, landing at 93.
The boy's name is of German, English origin meaning "brave as a wild boar", which gives it some real undeniable cool factor in its meaning alone.
Everest
With a twist on the popular Everett, Everest – meaning "from Évreux" – takes the name to lofty new heights and gives it a nature-inspired twist.
