One mum has shared the heartwarming process of her autistic son who doesn't like to be touched slowly warming up to his baby sister who won't leave him alone.

Mum Alexa Jay posted a video of her kids on TikTok, showing her toddler son back away from his sister's touch, moving her hand off of his shoulder.

In the next clip, he cracks a smile as his baby sister touches his face, and soon enough he is rolling around on the bed with her, letting her kiss him, and even taking the initiative to hug her.

In a follow up video, the mum responded to a question asking if he was the same as a baby.

"He definitely didn't like touch," said Jay, "I didn't understand then why he cried so much when we held him, all we knew was that he preferred to be put down...and preferred to be alone.

"It was pretty challenging in the beginning because we didn't know why or what was the problem."
