Aussie mum reveals the 'nightmare' toy she regrets buying her kids

A mum-of-two has revealed the toy every parent should avoid getting their kids this holiday season.

Emily Skye, a popular fitness influencer and trainer from the Gold Coast, has warned against a popular Kmart product that will leave your home in a mess.

Sharing a video to social media, the star said she "instantly regretted" buying stretchy rubber animal toys that get stuck on any surface they come in contact with.

"I made a huge mistake," her video began.

"I bought the kids these sticky dinosaur things that you put on your finger, and you flick them through the air, and they're like jelly.

"They're now stuck on my ceiling and I can't, for the life of me, get them down."

Showing her jelly-covered ceilings, Skye continued, "I don't have a ladder tall enough. What a nightmare."

At the end of the viral video, a man is seen attempting to remove the sticky figurines from the ceiling with a long pole, leaving behind a sticky residue.

Skye explained in the comments that though some of the toys had fallen off her ceiling with time, they left behind a coloured film.

"Yes!!! They can leave colour on the roof, too," she wrote in reply to a TikTok user who shared, "Sometimes they leave a stain like grease."

It turns out that Skye is not alone. Viewers rushed to the comment section of the post to share their experiences with the sticky animals.

"Hahahahaah omg this happened to me too with my 3 year old after Christmas last year," one wrote.

Another added, "My kids got lizard ones in a party bag, and the colour transferred, so we ended up with coloured lizard shapes on our ceiling, lol. "

One user referred to an incident where Kmart shoppers were throwing the 15-piece Sticky & Stretchy Animals onto the ceiling above the toy aisle: "Have we not learnt from Kmart roof not to buy them."

Last year, these sticky toys were the centre of attention when a shopper took to the Kmart Mums Australia Facebook page to post a photo of a ceiling in a Penrith store.

"Lol. This is the roof above the toy section in my Kmart," the shopper wrote, accompanied by a photo of the blob-covered ceiling.

It's safe to say the 15-piece Sticky & Stretchy Animals toy is a buy you want to think carefully about.
