The return of this popular Aldi back to school SpecialBuy has parents rejoicing

Back-to-school can be a very expensive time for parents, what with new uniforms, office supplies and the like.

Once parents need to start purchasing technology such as laptops, it can send those costs skyrocketing.

Luckily for parents, Aldi has brought back its popular back-to-school technology range for the second year in a row – and parents are rejoicing.

Tech range

Among the items for sale is a seven-inch (17.8 centimetre) children's tablet for $89.99, perfect for youngsters whose schools enact a bring-your-own-device (BYOD) to school policy.

The tablet comes in either pink or blue.

For older kids, there is a choice of two laptops. The first is a Samsung Galaxy Tab A9 64GB for $189.

The second is a four-inch (10 centimetre) Lenovo IdeaPad Slim Laptop, which Aldi is selling for $299.

Another Aldi tech buy is a 24-inch (61 centimetre) high definition monitor with built-in speaker, which comes with a one-year warranty, that would be perfect for doing homework.

Aldi first introduced its tech range in 2024, which was a big hit with cashed-strapped customers.

The range consisted of Lenovo Chromebooks and tablets for $299, bluetooth speakers starting from $24.99, earbuds, also for $24.99, and portable chargers for $29.99.

Just like in other years, Aldi is also offering a big range of other back-to-school items, as part of its Back2School SpecialBuys range.

Shoes

Aldi has brought back its popular range of school shoes and joggers again this year.

Among the items for sale are premium leather lace-up, double strap or Mary Jane style shoes for $24.99.

A selection of joggers are also for sale.

One design comes in black or white for $10.99, while a premium jogger sells for $14.99.

Backpack

Aldi is selling school backpacks again this year.

Aldi's premium backpack comes in either navy or black with a yellow zipper and is selling for $14.99.

A range for younger children comes in pink or blue and also costs $14.99.

That style comes with a whole range of matching accessories available for purchase, including lunch storage items, stationery, pencil cases and labels.

Lunch storage

Like other years, Aldi is offering a range of lunch storage products, including a variety of Sistema items, insulated drink bottles and lunch bags, and containers starting from just $1.99.

There are also freezable pouches and bricks, and bento-style lunch containers.

Stationery

As always, Aldi has a huge range of stationery, with prices starting from as low as 49 cents.

There are even items for teachers, such as merit stamps for $2.99.

Aldi's Back2School SpecialBuys range goes on sale on Wednesday, January 8, while the tech range goes on sale on Saturday, January 11.
