Adorable boy dances his way into heart surgery after 259 days in hospital

A dance to a favourite song can, on most occasions, put a big smile on your face. For one adorable toddler in the US, grooving to Harry Styles' Watermelon Sugar was enough to cheer him up even as he headed into surgery for a heart transplant.

Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital in Florida uploaded the sweet video of little Waylen dancing into theatre alongside his nurses - and it's left the world grinning.

The little boy is all smiles as he wiggles his behind and stomps along to the music. The song blasted through speakers and even has some of the nurses dancing alongside him.

As he get's to the end of the hallway the nurses wish Waylen well, one calling out "Bye Waylen, we'll see you when you get back".

The video was tweeted out to the hospital's thousands of followers with the caption, "Sugar, spice, and everything that has us feeling nice on this amazing #FeelGoodFriday. Waylen is nothing but smiles and wiggles as he dances his way to surgery to his favorite song Harry Styles Watermelon Sugar".

Since it was posted the vision has made national headlines even appearing on the US Today show with hosts calling Waylen "an amazing little boy".

People took to the post to commend Waylen on being such a brave soul.

"I love you warrior! A huge kiss from Italy", one person commented. Another said, "I love his dancing! Best wishes on your surgery Waylen!! Go get 'em kiddo!".

In an update on their Instagram the hospital confirmed Waylen had a successful heart transplant surgery and is now home after 259 days in hospital.
