9-1-1 actress Angela Bassett admitted to awkwardly forgetting her son's name during her virtual acceptance speech at the NAACP Image Awards — and well, don't we relate.

As acceptance speeches go, Bassett's speech for winning 'Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series' was pretty impressive.

Right off the bat, she remembered to thank her fellow nominees, the cast and crew from hit series 9-1-1, as well as production company Fox-Disney. Watch the video above.

Finally, she came to thanking her family, and while she started off strong, when it got to the name of her son, she noticeably blanked.

"[I want to thank] Courtney,...." the actress says, thanking her husband before she pauses.

Finally, it comes to her mind and she thanks her children, starting with son Slater and twin sister Bronwyn.

In a virtual press conference after the awards, Bassett joked "Usually you forget your husband's name, right?", reports People.

"I went like brain dead for a second...I wanted to make sure I got everything in there," she continued.

"It was like six different people I wanted to thank like real quickly on the time frame and I was doing pretty good and thought really well of myself and then I forgot my son's, my child's name."

Despite the small slip-up, Bassett is a proud mum, and often shares tidbits of parenting advice in interviews, and even on red carpets.

Once on a red carpet, Bassett spoke of how she juggles being a fun mum and a disciplined mum, reports Huffpost.

"I just try to find a moment, something that we can enjoy together that I know that they would really appreciate," she said, adding "Because there's enough times when we're home and we're putting the parental demands down ― be in the bed by 9:30, turn those cell phones off, as a matter of fact, give them to us, you know."

Bassett has also spoken out about how her kids have handled growing up as kids of colour.

"Even from the age of four, from preschool, they've had to deal with ― and as crazy as it seems or sounds ― colour issues because they were African Americans," she revealed during an interview with People in 2018.

"Whether other kids will play with them or have issue with that. And it can't come from their young minds, it's something that they've heard from somewhere. It makes you gasp and it just squeezes your heart sometimes, because you never want your kids to go through these sorts of pain issues. Or you thought it'd be much later, once they get a firm footing of who they are."
