Failing Fabulously: Rosie Waterland’s 'spectacular career fail'
We’ve all had 'off' days at work, but Rosie Waterland enjoyed her career fail while sat opposite a movie star.
The author, actor, comedian and 9Honey columnist delved into one of her most awkward days on the job in this week’s episode of Failing Fabulously podcast, hosted by Shelly Horton.
Rosie had been working as a journalist for a few months when her editor called and asked if she’d be interesting in interviewing Toni Collette.
“It was like a special treat that she had asked me to do it,” Rosie recalls to Shelly.
“I was like, ‘Oh my god, yes!’ I was so excited.”
But when the big day rolled around, Rosie realised she was way out of her depth, arriving awkwardly to a posh hotel in daggy clothes.
“I’m sitting in the foyer and [showbiz reporter] Angela Bishop walks in… she looks like she’s doing a red carpet event.”
“I’m sitting there in my backpack and my Converse, I’m thinking, ‘I think this might have been a mistake, I shouldn’t have said yes to this.’”
Listen to the latest episode of Failing Fabulously to find out how Rosie’s awkward interview went – and what famous line she got Toni Collette to quote.
