Melania Trump wins praise in Saudi Arabia for her 'elegantly respectful' tour outfits

Melania Trump has joined her husband on his first foreign tour, but despite her work with foreign leaders and ambassadors, it's her outfits that are getting people talking.

It began as soon as she stepped off Air Force One in Saudi Arabia, wearing a black Stella McCartney jumpsuit and gold belt — but no headscarf. 

Technically, that's not a problem. Michelle Obama also chose not to wear one when she visited the country in 2015 alongside then-President Obama. But Donald Trump criticised Mrs. Obama for her decision, saying at the time that the people of Saudi Arabia "were insulted", leading to backlash directed towards his wife now.

However, Melania has stuck to her guns and displayed an array of stylish looks. And the Saudi local press are impressed — labeling her tour wardrobe "classy and conservative" and praising the First Lady for her "elegantly respectful" dress.

Melania left Washington, D.C., for the tour in a bright orange Hervé Pierre leather skirt with nude Jimmy Choo pumps.

On the evening of their arrival, President Trump and Melania were  escorted by King Salman for a tour of Murabba Palace. She chose a floor-length fuschia dress with structured shape and cape silhouette. She paired the look with some matching pointed toe heels and a diamond necklace.

She chose a Ralph Lauren Collection safari shirt-dress and striped pumps when she went to the American International School and an all-women’s business services center in Riyadh.

The 47-year-old completed the sleek look with zebra-patterned pumps that featured a high stiletto heel.
