People are tweeting the adorable, non-'romantic' things their partners do for them
Hollywood would have us believe romance can only be found in the big gestures – a frenzied airport sprint (thanks, Love Actually), or a partner who’ll buy you an apartment with a giant walk-in wardrobe (oh hi, Carrie Bradshaw).
However, a recent Twitter moment has demonstrated the most heartfelt gestures often come in modest, even mundane packages.
We have Metro reporter Hattie Gladwell to thank for the timely reminder.
Last week, she asked the good folk of Twitter to share things their partners do that perhaps aren’t the dictionary definition of romantic, but never fail to win them over.
Boy, did that simple request yield some heartwarming results.
(Warning: If you’re wearing mascara while reading this, prepare to have it all over your cheeks in roughly three minutes.)
Kicking things off with her own contribution, Gladwell shared: “Mine runs me a bath every night without asking and puts the kettle on in the morning!”
Others quickly chimed in. Some women gave their partners shout-outs for helping them with fiddly everyday tasks like brushing and styling their hair:
