Donald Trump's children show of support during Florida appearance

Three of Donald Trump's five children have attended their father's public address in Florida today, following the former president's trip to New York where he handed himself into authorities.

Donald Trump Jr and fiancée Kimberly Guilfoyle walked in ahead of Trump followed by Tiffany Trump and husband Michael Boulos. Also in attendance, Eric Trump and wife Lara.

Eric Trump was the only one of Trump's children listed as accompanying his father to New York where he was arrested on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records relating to so-called hush money paid to rumoured ex-lover Stormy Daniels during Trump's 2016 presidential campaign.

He is the first former sitting president to be indicted in US history.

Ivanka and Jared Kuchner were not in attendance, nor was Trump's wife Melania and their son Barron, 17.

Trump, 76, strode into the event which was held at his held at his Mar-A-Lago estate, as the song 'Proud to be an American' and his supporters cheered.

Trump was seen placing his hand on son Eric's shoulder as he made his way on stage as the crowed chanted "USA, USA, USA."

Trump spoke of his children's support, calling out Donald Jr, Eric and Tiffany who stood before him. He also mentioned absent children Ivanka and Barron in his speech.

"I have a son here who's done a great job and I have another son here who's done a great job," Trump said pointing to where they stood in the crowd. He then pointed next to them and said: "Tiffany."

"And Ivanka and Barron who will be great some day. He's tall, he's smart. But I have a great family they've done a great job and we appreciate it very much," he added.

Donald Trump Jr has been defending his father in a series of interviews and social media posts, while daughter Ivanka has chosen to address her father's legal woes via an Instagram story.

It is understood Melania, 52, remains at home with Barron, 17. Why Ivanka hasn't appeared alongside her father isn't known. Both Ivanka and Jared Kuchner served key roles at the White House during Trump's presidency.

Eric Trump is Trump's third child with ex-wife Ivana who died in July 2022. Eric works as a businessman and activist and also appeared alongside his father on hit reality TV series The Apprentice before his father entered politics, winning the US presidential election in 2016.

Both Eric and Lara were front and centre during Trump's 2016 presidential campaign, along with all of the Trump children - Donald Trump Jr, 45, Ivanka Kuchner, 41, and Eric Trump, 39, from his marriage to Ivana Trump, Tiffany Trump. 29, from his marriage to Marla Maples and Barron Trump from his marriage to current wife Melania.

Trump's trial is expected to take place in 2024 at the same time as the presidential election.
