Woman shares clever trick to score discounts while shopping online
A savvy shopper has shared a genius online shopping hack that will save money almost every single time.
The American shopper, who shares videos on TikTok under her handle @bougiecheapsake, says the hack works for any online purchase.
In the video she explains the idea of 'abandoned cart recovery'. When shopping for an item, place it in the cart on the store website but don't check out for a couple of days.

Most times the company will send you a reminder that you have an item in your shopping card and often offer a discount coupon to encourage you to go through with the purchase.

She titled the TikTok post, "Always do this before buying online."

During the mock conversation she explains: "Sometimes companies will send coupon codes to encourage you to buy.
"If all else fails it gives you time to think about buying it," she continues.
Some of the woman's TikTok followers were already aware of the hack but many were not.
"This is genius," writes one.
"So true!!!!" comments another.
"I know it works with some ebay sellers," explains another. "Keep it on your watch list for a while."
"I do this all the time," writes another. "90% of the time I get an email with a discount code! Also, I always Google discount codes for a company before buying."

The video has been viewed over 16,000 times and is one of many clever shopping hacks on the woman's TikTok account including saving on designer bags, saving big on weddings, saving on rental cars and also Apple products and holidays.
