Domestic bliss would never be achieved without a little cheeky standoff. One couple are doing exactly that, using their recycling rubbish to make a point.

"Wife and myself are in the middle of a silent battle of 'who takes out the recycling'," a man shared to Reddit, with a picture of recyclable rubbish piled sky high.

Included in the debris is Pepsi can boxes, egg cartons, and cans, many of them stacked vertically instead of horizontally.

Commenters joked about the outcome of the "battle".

"It'll be who ever breaks on the vacuuming," predicted one commenter. "Yep, that's a load-bearing Dyson right now!" said another.

"Change the (dynamics) of the battlefield by sprinkling crumbs on her belongings," one commenter jokingly suggested.

"Or close the door with too much force," another provided a simple solution.

"Who the hell stacks recycling like that? Everything above the water cooler will fit in a single bin/bag," one commenter added, "It's mind boggling how some people choose to live."

"We have a kitchen trash can that we toss recycling into and then when it gets full take it to the recycling tub or straight to the curb," another commenter shared, "I can't imagine just having it free balling like this."
