Couple shocked after seeing the only photo taken during their wedding dinner

In an age of social media and smartphones, you would think capturing a few photos during one of the biggest moments of your life wouldn't be too difficult.

Yet one pair of newlyweds was shocked to find they had walked away from their wedding dinner with a less-than-mediocre memento.

The couple, who eloped over the weekend and celebrated at a high-end restaurant, asked their waiter to take a picture to commemorate the occasion.

All they were left with was a single blurry photo… with the waiter's fingers covering half the image.

The amateur shot, posted on Reddit, features only a portion of the bride's cleavage and her hands clasped at a wooden table in front of a single glass of champagne.

There are no guests — or the groom — pictured in the photo

"Got eloped this weekend then went out to a fancy restaurant to celebrate," the couple wrote on Reddit.

"We asked our waiter to take a picture of us and this was the only one he got."

The post attracted 500 comments and a mixed response.

One user told the pair to frame the photo, declaring: "Perfect conversation piece for years to come."

"As memories go, that's a pretty funny one!" another said.

Other commenters were scathing, blaming the couple for bothering the waiter to take the image in the first place.

"As a server, please don't ask people to take pictures with your not-cleaned-in-two-years dirty a-- cell phone. Especially right now," one wrote.

"We have other things to tend to and the last thing we want to do is stop and take countless photos of you when table 72 is glaring through the back of our heads for their 13th refill of Diet Coke because now I have to stop and wash my hands before I even approach them."

Another commenter echoed this, writing, "As a server.... I f-----g hate taking pictures for people. I work in a busy restaurant and the last thing I want to do is take a picture of you and your group while I got other s--t to tend to."

The groom clarified he and his wife had "just thanked" the waiter and finished their meal when they asked.

"Didn't even look at it until the next morning! I have to admit, this picture is a million times better than any mediocre picture he could've taken," he wrote.
