Meet the Duke and Duchess self-isolating in the castle from The Crown

A British Duke and Duchess, along with their five children, have been enjoying one of the most luxe lockdown locations in the UK as they self-isolate at a castle used in TV hit The Crown.

The Duke and Duchess of Rutland, also known as David Manners and his ex-wife Emma, retreated to Manners' lavish Belvoir Castle home in the English countryside to wait out the coronavirus pandemic in style with their five children.

Despite divorcing eight years ago, the ex-spouses have both been living in the castle since their split, though co-habiting with your ex is probably easier when you're doing it on a 15,000-acre estate.

Belvoir Castle isn't just a home though, Emma running commercial activities like weddings and shooting parties out of the home, as well as allowing film crews in to shoot period movies and TV.

Its opulent interiors stood in for Windsor Castle in season two of The Crown, and served as backdrops in scenes from films including The Young Victoria and The Da Vinci Code.

But the Duke and Duchess aren't the only ones calling the castle home during the lockdown in the UK, having been joined by their three daughters and two younger sons on the Estate.

Lady Violet, 26, Lady Alice, 24 and Lady Eliza, 22, are well known on the London social scene and have made sure to document their luxe lockdown on social media, sharing snaps from the opulent castle to their Instagram accounts.

Eliza has taken to Instagram with everything from bikini snaps to portraits posing in one of the castle's many lavish rooms.

Meanwhile Violet has shared springtime snaps from the grounds of the estate, which are covered in blossoms as the UK enters the spring months.

Posing barefoot on the grounds, Violet looks like something out of a period drama in a flowing white gown.

Their brothers have been less active online, the heir to the family estate Charles, Marquess of Granby, 20, and younger brother Lord Hugo, 16, keeping their accounts private.

But the Rutland children have managed to get their parents involved online, prompting their father to share virtual tours of the estate to the official Belvoir Castle Instagram account.

The estate has a rich history, with a theme of classic opulence that extends throughout the many, many, many rooms in the castle, from exquisitely decorated drawing rooms to the bedrooms decked out with poster beds.

There's a grand library to keep the family busy reading, vast grounds for horse riding and outdoor strolls, and – of course – a grand dining hall fit for a king.

Updated with modern fixtures to keep the younger members of the family happy, we honestly can't picture anywhere better to self-isolate.
