Around the world, celebrities and influencers have recently taken to gushing about how lucky, fortunate and #blessed they are to be – well – rich and famous during a global crisis.

In Instagram posts and Zoom interviews they wax lyrical about how they feel so privileged to be spending quarantine in multi-million dollar mansions, with a full staff to keep them fed and watered, and yeah it's a little tone deaf.

I'm not even going to talk about the 'Imagine' video stars lip synced from homes where I couldn't even afford to rent a bathroom.

But there's one wealthy icon who has been surprisingly chill about her rich-person quarantine experience: Martha Stewart.

Described online as a "businesswoman, writer, television personality, former model, and convicted felon" (because what can't she do), Stewart is worth an estimated $640 million USD.

And she's been self-isolating exactly how you'd expect a woman worth that much to self-isolate.

Locked down at her 153-acre farm in New York, Stewart has been filling her days with workouts on $3,000 exercise equipment, cocktails with her staff – a gardener, driver and housekeeper – and raising baby geese.

Because of course she is.

Sharing isolation updates regularly to Instagram, Stewart has shown off her cooking skills in her downright insane luxury home kitchen as well as shots of the vast grounds of her farm.

She also installed a $3,000 Tonal home exercise machine to go along with her Peleton bike and home squat machine, because even Martha Stewart seems to be working towards her post-iso body.

It's outrageous, it's expensive and it's about as luxury as you can get, but Stewart's quarantine experience – or what she shows of it online - is pretty refreshing because she seems to know it's OTT.

And she doesn't mind, because it's her life and it's what her 700,000 Instagram followers are there to see.

During the coronavirus pandemic, countless celebs and influencers have tried hopping on the "we're all in this together" bandwagon, which feels pretty tone deaf coming from individuals who earn more in a month than many of us make in a year.

But Stewart isn't trying to pretend she's one of us 'normal' folk. She's a multi-millionaire and she's quarantining like one, and she's not going to pretend any different.

So let's sit back and enjoy her surprisingly wholesome rich content, complete with home cooking tips and videos of goslings, without the awkward virtue signalling some celebs have going on lately.

Because who doesn't want to watch Martha Stewart make salad in an old hoodie and a million dollar kitchen?
