Girl snatched while walking with mum found safe

A young girl who was abducted while walking with her mother in Texas, USA has been found safe.

Fort Worth Police were desperately searching for Salem Sabatka, eight, who was taken while out walking with her mother on Saturday evening at 6.30pm.

Authorities located the girl on Sunday morning thanks to two alert church members who spotted the suspect's vehicle.

Fort Worth Police said on Twitter just before 2.30am that Salem was found safe at a hotel in Forest Hill.

The suspect, Michael Webb, 51, is in custody and is facing aggravated kidnapping charges.

The girl was walking with her mum when a man grabbed her and pulled her into his car.

The mother jumped into the car and fought to free her daughter, but was pushed out and the man drove away.

A neighbour's doorbell camera captured the shocking footage.

An Amber Alert was immediately put out for the girl and a vehicle description released for a four-door grey sedan.

The church members who spotted the vehicle and led to the girl's rescue had seen the post on social media and decided to search for the car.

"They are our heroes tonight," police spokesperson Buddy Calzada told reporters. "We had citizens that went out of their way to help find them."
