In a post on Instagram, the 31-year-old, who gave birth to her son Leone in March, blasted Italian publication Corriere della Sera for a story it published on Ferragni’s recent bachelorette holiday with her friends in Ibiza, Spain.

Referring to pictures posted by the Italian businesswoman on Instagram, the article labels the women “rotonde” (“round”) and also comments on Ferragni’s post-baby body.

The publication also stated the women seemed “happy even if they weren’t skinny and in shape”, Ferragni said.

“My friends have been described as 'fat' by the biggest Italian newspaper,” the CEO of fashion site The Blonde Salad wrote in a scathing Instagram post calling out the publication.

“This article came out saying my friends were happy at my bachelorette even if they weren’t SKINNY and IN SHAPE. I think it's DISGUSTING to give a message like that, especially when so many girls are struggling with their body identity and self-confidence.

“Women have such a hard time feeling beautiful because of so many reasons,” she added.

“As a role model for so many women, I always try to share the message that they mostly have to feel confident. That’s why I’m beyond shocked to read such a wrong message shared by such an important newspaper.”

“Different is beautiful. Happy is beautiful. Don’t let others bring you down or tell you who you are, ever,” she said.

The post was met with an outpouring of support from Ferragni’s 13.5 million followers, who praised her honest message. The newspaper has reportedly made changes to the article.

Ferragni’s post comes just days after Victoria’s Secret model Candice Swanepoel hit out at critics of her post-baby body when she was papped on a beach three weeks after giving birth to son Ariel.
