He's the son of an actress and popstar and a former world No. 1: Now Cruz Hewitt could well eclipse his parents Bec and Lleyton's fame
When a then Bec Cartwright met and fell in love with tennis star Lleyton Hewitt, it was a match that saw two of Australia's household names come together.
Bec, now 42, who has since taken on her husband's famous surname, was one of Australia's most beloved soap stars; she played Hayley on Home and Away before launching her pop career, while tennis star Lleyton, now 44, was a world No. 1.
This year the pair will be celebrating their 21st wedding anniversary after having tied the knot back in July 2005 at the Sydney Opera House.
Now, it seems that their eldest child, son Cruz Hewitt, 17, may well be on track to eclipse his parents' fame.

Despite his young age, Cruz is already in the spotlight for his sporting ambitions and love of tennis.
Cruz is following in his famous father's footsteps by playing tennis and has had considerable success already.
Last year, Cruz played in the famed US Open in the junior rounds, proudly watched on by his parents.

This year, he suffered a bit of a setback when he lost to American Michael Zheng at this year's Australian Open, being knocked out and losing the first AO 2026 qualifying round.
But tennis fans flocked to his match to watch the young sports star on the court.
Yahoo! News also reports the teen walked away with a cool $40,000 despite the loss.
He is now ranked world No.734 and is even sponsored by sports giant, Nike, and we have no doubt the youngster won't let this setback stop him from achieving his dreams.
In December, he took home the coveted Male Junior Athlete of the Year Award at the 2025 Newcombe Medal in Melbourne, being supported by his doting parents at the event.
The pair were right by their son's side as he scooped up one of the biggest awards; towering over his parents as they posed on the red carpet.

It's clear he has his parents' full support with his sporting ambitions.
Tennis star Alex de Minaur took home the coveted Newcombe Medal.
Earlier last year, Cruz made his Wimbledon debut, but soon was eliminated from the boys' competition.
In a sweet nod to his tennis legend father, Cruz is often seen doing his father's famous hand gesture while screaming "c'mon," on the court.

Cruz once told Nine about following in his father's footsteps and carrying on the legacy of the Hewitt last name.
"I mean, there's definitely pros and cons," he said.
"But I try and focus on the good things that come with it.
"The pressure doesn't bother me too much. I feel like it's kind of a challenge to be better than him so that's what I'm trying to do."
Lleyton, who has turned to mentoring and coaching in recent years, previousy remarked on Instagram how ''proud" he and Bec are of Cruz.

Other kids who have followed in their sporting parents' footsteps include Josh and Nick Daicos, who are AFL stars and sons of sporting great Peter Daicos.
Tennis greats Jamie and Andy Murray are actually sons of Scottish tennis coach Judy Murray.
Another tennis star, who is currently in Australia for the Australian Open, is American player Taylor Fritz, whose parents are former tennis star Kathy May and tennis player Guy Fritz.
