Carole Middleton reveals extravagant $2000 Mother's Day wishlist

When one of your daughters is set to become the Queen of England one day and the other is married to a billionaire, you can afford to ask for more than a card and chocolates on Mother's Day. Just ask Carole Middleton.

Kate and Pippa's mum shared her $2709 wish list for British Mother's Day (11th March) in her new column for Baby LondonBaby London over the weekend.

Top of the flight-attendant-turned-party-planner's list is an annual subscription from Harrods' florist Neill Strain - although she hasn't specified whether she'd like the small couture bouquet ($1800) or the weekly deluxe version, which will set the Duchess, her sister and her brother James back an eye-watering $17,000.

She'd also be pleased to unwrap an engraved Whistle & Bango silver bracelet ($171), a pink faux-leather Tiba + Marl backpack ($231), a Marloe London scarf ($133) or a bottle of Aurelia Revitalise & Glow serum ($114).

James' business hasn't been faring so well of late. His lolly company Boomf lost $5.3m in the past three years of trading. If he's cutting costs, the $53 box of Rococo chocolates his mother recommends would no doubt be a welcome (and thrifty) surprise.

Sixty-three-year-old Carole recently joined the magazine as a contributing editor, sharing practical party planning tips and must-have buys in her monthly column.

Along with her Mother's Day gift guide, she's previously shared ideas for a child's first birthday party — perhaps giving us an insight in to the celebrations she has thrown for her two young grandchildren, Prince George, four, and Princess Charlotte, two.

"A first birthday party is as much for the adults as it is for the baby, so remember to mark the big day with beautiful keepsakes that both you and your baby will treasure as they grow, and of course, take lots of photographs," she wrote alongside her pick of Peter Rabbit-themed buys.

Soon she will have another grandchild to spoil - the Duchess of Cambridge is currently pregnant with her third child. She is due in April.
