Renowned sexologist Chantelle Otten wants to teach Aussies the link between astrology and romance – and so much more.

She's an expert on sex and relationships, so it's only fitting she's now teamed up with Bumble for a new podcast, Give Me A Buzz, hosted alongside Bumble's own Lucille McCart.

The duo tell 9honey that the podcast is focusing on dating on the digital age, covering several topics such as ethical non-monogamy and even astrological compatibility.

McCart explains that, when it comes to astrology and dating, it's a lot more complex than you think.

"It's not just about I'm a Leo and you're an Aries," she says, revealing that our Zodiac signs have more of an impact on our relationships than we might think.

She adds: "There's so much more to it than that."

And we're set to learn even more on the topic when the episode drops.

There are 10 episodes of Give Me A Buzz, with the first set to hit podcast streaming services on Tuesday April 23.

McCart and Otten appeared on Today Extra and spoke to hosts Sylvia Jeffreys and David Campbell about where the idea for the podcast came from.

"Chantelle and I get asked questions about dating and relationships daily, so we thought how can we share the information that we have learned over the last five years we have worked together with all the people that have these kinds of questions," explained McCart.

She added that the aim of Give Me A Buzz is to "help people understand how to navigate the modern dating landscape."

McCart and Otten told the hosts that, on average, people who put their star sign in their dating profile tend to attract more matches.

"We saw a rise in people finding matches if they put in their birth chart," Otten explained.

"People are really into it," McCart agreed.

Otten also said she and her partner, tennis star Dylan Alcott, share the same star sign after being born just nine days apart from each other.

"We're both saggies, he's nine days older than me. That's probably why we're always doing so many things," she laughed.

"I think it's very compatible in many ways. We have very good unspoken communication as well, we're on the same page."

Otten went on to describe a lot of the dating trends they've seen over recent years, including ethical non-monogamy, people declining traditional relationship timelines, focusing more on shared priorities, and prioritising people with the same ethical and political values and beliefs.
