Tim Tszyu reveals surprise plans to marry partner of eight years, Alexandra Constantine

Aussie boxer Tim Tszyu has revealed some major plans for the end of 2024.

In a new interview with No Limit Boxing, Tszyu shared that he and his "missus," Alexandra Constantine, plan to tie the knot before the year is over.

"Now, um... I'm getting married," he laughed when asked if he has any major plans between now and 2025.

"Boxing can't compete with my missus," he said. "I love her to death and that's my number one priority right now.

"I always put boxing as number one, throughout my whole life you know, boxing, boxing boxing.

"You come back and you start to think, you know what, family is actually number one."

After a hard loss against Russia's Bakhram Murtazaliev, Tszuyu was asked what's going to be more "nerve wracking," his next walk into the boxing ring or his walk down the aisle – and his answer seemed to be a no brainer.

"Walk down the aisle, for sure," he said. "That's going to be the hardest one... boxing's easy."

Constantine has been a huge support for Tzsyu, constantly showing up for him every time he steps into the ring.

They first met back in 2016, after a chance encounter at a boxing class in the Sydney suburb of Rockdale.

Afterward, the couple struck up a conversation and the rest, as they say, is history.

Tszyu has been open about the unwavering support he receives from his partner, saying that when he wins a fight, she should be getting the credit too.

"It means the world, just to have someone by your side, and not just at the fights," he told The Sunday Telegraph in 2019.

"She lives this as well. She is young, she could be going out to bars, hanging out with her friends, instead she's stuck in a sauna with me on Saturday nights and then we have an early night.

"When I diet, she diets. She cooks a lot of meals, she actually keeps me grounded with my diet," he added.

"So it's not just my victory when I win a fight, she deserves the spotlight too."

In March this year, Tszyu revealed that he'd popped the question on Christmas Eve when the couple took their French bulldog Pablo to the local dog park.

"Let's just say when I did it, I was very, very nervous – more nervous than any fight," he told The Daily Telegraph.

The couple are notoriously private, with only a handful of people aware of the engagement prior to Tzsyu breaking the news in March.

He shared that their relationship works so well because Constantine understands "the selfishness that's needed" to be a professional boxer.

"I'd say a lot of women won't understand that, putting myself first at all times, and going all in on an obsession," he added.

"Being second best is hard for a woman, but she understands."

But Constantine added that she doesn't see Tzsyu's commitment to his sport as an issue, but rather an opportunity to take some time to focus on herself.

"Some women get lost in whoever their husband or partner is, I'm fortunate enough that I'm not that person," she told The Daily Telegraph.

"I've always been very strong and independent. It's quite freeing.

"Some people say, 'Why don't you go with Tim on his camps?' Would you bring your wife to work every day?" she added.

"Everyone always seems to have a comment, but we just do it how we do it and this is what works."
