'He is trying to put pressure on her': Billion dollar divorce turns nasty
A New York hedge fund manager is reportedly planning to marry his new girlfriend once his divorce from his wife is finalised.
John Paulson, 66, and wife Jenny Paulson, 50, are embroiled in a bitter divorce of the fortune he accumulated during their two decades of marriage.
The billionaire, worth $US3billion ($4.6 billion), has moved on with dietician and influencer Alina de Almeida, 34 and is allegedly keen to finalise is split with his wife so he can marry his new girlfriend, according to Page Six.
There is no prenup between John and Jenny Paulson with Jenny reportedly ending all private settlement discussions and gearing up to head back to court to fight for more of the marital assets.

In addition to the rather large pool of cash the couple owns extensive property holdings including estates in Aspen and New York.
John has told the publication he tried to "meet in person with Jenny" but she has "rejected all offers of arbitration or mediation."

His lawyer Bill Zabel added: "People would have been astounded by the generosity of Mr Paulson's offer, which would have given Mrs Paulson far more than what is required by law. Her greed has created an insurmountable obstacle to settlement."
The couple shares two teenage daughters for whom trusts have been set up, with Jenny accused of attempting to access them.

John and Almeida reportedly met in 2021 and have moved in together, with claims Jenny found out about her husband's new relationship via the media.
John initially filed for divorce from his wife before withdrawing it in an attempt to reach a settlement out of court.

Jenny's lawyer Robert Cohen told Page Six: "Husbands who have made a fortune in the marriage do not give their wives allowances.
"He is trying to put pressure on her to accomplish a settlement, and it is just wrong."
