Deep breaths, millennials: Bebo is coming back in a matter of days
All it took was a simple online post to send millennials everywhere into meltdown.
Bebo, the former social media website that started in 2005, has announced it's making a huge comeback in coming days.
Those who used the social networking site – the name of which stood for 'blog early, blog often' – back in the 2000s are likely feeling a wave of nostalgia at the news.

"The all new Bebo will be launching in the next few days. Excited to be back!" the brand said in the announcement post, shared on Facebook.
It remains unclear exactly what the new site will look like, and if it will be anything like the old social networking platform it began as.
A message on bebo.com reads, "Text-based podcasting – where the real-time conversation lives between the podcasts."

Underneath Bebo's announcement post, one Facebook user voiced a thought that attracted thousands of likes.
"Imagine we all sign up and it logged us back into our old Bebo, imagine seeing our old other half's, funky wall paper, dj cammy playing in the background while I scroll to see what brand of cigarettes I am [crying with laughter emojis]," they wrote.
"Millennials in the house! [crying with laughter emojis]," another added.
Another added: "The real Bebo or something else? We need the 2005 version but in 2026 lol."
Bebo was launched in 2005, two years after Myspace and a year after Facebook.
Users will remember the old site, created by husband and wife team Michael and Xochi Birch, which included a 'top 16' friends list and a red logo.
You could also assign a friend as an "other half" and add music to your page.
Bebo was sold to AOL in 2008 for a whopping $US850million, and was then sold off again two years later in 2010. Its users dwindled.
It was reported in 2013 that Bebo was sold to one of its founders for $US1million after it sought bankruptcy protection.
In 2019, it was reported that Twitch had acquired Bebo.
It was said to have been offline, then would be returning in 2021.
But it seems 2026 is the year of the great Bebo comeback. The site is said to be in the hands of its founders again.
