BBC presenter Clive Myrie has responded to viewer concerns over his ''drooping'' eye during a recent broadcast.

The broadcaster appeared on the British TV network to present News At Six this week, with a clearly noticeable eye condition.

Concerned viewers took to X to share their concerns over the 60-year-old.

Myrie has responded to viewer concerns over his 'drooping' eye during a recent broadcast. BBC

"Hope you're OK. Slightly swollen left eye on BBC news tonight?" one wrote on X.

"What's the matter with Clive Myrie's eye? Doesn't look good," another said.

Another commented: "What's up with Clive Myrie's eye? he looks like he's been punched."

"Is Clive Myrie ok ? as his left eye lid looks swollen and not blinking as well as his other eye!" another said.

"Has Clive Myrie's left eye been stung by a bee or has he got a bruised eye?" said another.

Myrie quickly took to X to reassure viewers he was okay.

"Happy N.Year everyone and thank you all for your concern over my left eye. It's nothing serious, just an infection," he said on X @CliveMyrieBBC.

"I did think about wearing an eye patch, but the boss said no! A bit like Long John Silver. He wasn't having any of it! Cheers."

"Phew! Just took a picture off TV... was worried!" one viewer responded to his explanation.

"Yeah I noticed it Clive used to get those little sty's on my eyeslids my mam always used her wedding ring to rub on it.. old wives tale, it never worked lol," another said.

A BBC spokesperson also told The Sun: "Clive is fine and just has an eye infection."

Clive Myrie has worked at the BBC as a journalist, newsreader and presenter since 1987, working his way up the ranks. He also hosts BBC quiz shows Mastermind and Celebrity Mastermind.
