Little girl's first day of school photo goes viral

Before and after photos of a five-year-old girl on her first day of school have gone viral after showing her hilarious reaction to just one day of classes.

Lucie Falconer, from Glasgow, was excited to set off to school for the first time when she posed for a photo earlier this week.

She was dressed the part too; uniform ironed, socks pulled up and hair tied neatly in a bow as she grinned at the camera.

But it looks like school took a toll on the pint-sized student, Lucie returning home that afternoon looking more than a little worse for wear.

In a drastically different second photo, the five-year-old is seen slouching as she arrives home, her hair in absolute disarray and a scowl on her face.

Her uniform seemed to have taken a beating too, her shirt and cardigan rumpled, tie half-undone and socks around her ankles.

Even her shimmery unicorn backpack was slung over her arm wearily as the little girl trudged in from her first day of school.

Mum Jillian Falconer shared the hilarious shots to Facebook, where they quickly went viral as other parents were thrilled by the hilarious shots.

"Couldn't stop laughing, she's just adorable," one wrote, others adding that Lucie's facial expression really made the second shot.

"That's one to embarrass her with when she's 18," another joked.

According to mum, Lucie didn't even get up to anything major on her first day, saying the youngster put her bedraggled appearance down to "playing with friends."

"Her dad had messaged me from work, asking how her first day went, and I said to him 'You won't believe the state she's in,'" Jillian told Barrhead News.

She later told Metro that her daughter is usually "very shy" and "a wee madame," but it looks like school has brought out a whole new side to Lucie.
