The best Christmas bargains in the supermarkets this week as the countdown begins
All three of the biggest supermarket chains are discounting Christmas eating this week, with cheap blueberries, raspberries, mangoes, nectarines and cherries on offer.
There are also big discounts on vital Christmas supplies such as mince pies, brandy custard, pavlova, reindeer carrots, Coca-Cola and, of course, batteries.
One Big Switch has picked out 'Australia's cheapest grocery basket this week', filled with the best bargains going live at Coles, Woolworths and Aldi on Wednesday, December 15.

Shoppers can use this list as the starting point for their own and pick and choose where they shop based on which specials they really want this week.
WHO HAS THE BEST CHRISTMAS GROCERY BARGAINS THIS WEEK?
Shop at Aldi for the cheapest blueberries ($2.99), mangoes ($1.79), mince pies (6 for $4.99), brandy custard ($3.19/kg), eggnog ($3.99/L) and grapes ($7.99/kg).
Aldi's also got a 700g Brioche Christmas Tree 700g for $9.99, 6 Fruit Mince Pies for $4.99, Roald Dahl books for $8, and a Spiderman/Frozen electric mini bike for $69.99.
Shop at Coles for the cheapest Energiser batteries ($9.75 for 14 AAA), blueberries ($2.99), raspberries ($4), pavlova ($5.40) and half leg ham (from $8/kg).
Coles also has a refurbished Apple iPad 5 128GB for $409, an iPhone XR 64GB for $529, a $79 Nutribullet smoothie blender, and Christmas hampers ranging from $55-$110.
Shop at Woolies for the cheapest reindeer carrots ($1/kg), cherries ($13.90/kg), Coca-Cola ($1.57), mangoes ($1.80) and Duracell batteries ($9.95 for 14 AAA).
Woolies also has 20 per cent off bon bons, half-price BBQ heat beads, a half-price 33L Willow esky, half-price Bonds socks and half-price Mobile starter packs from Telstra & Belong.

To decide which specials were the winners this week, we looked at a combination of unit pricing, practicality of packaging size, popularity and seasonality.
If an everyday price was cheaper than all the specials this week, we chose the everyday priced item unless stated.
Where two supermarkets have identical or very close prices on similar products, such as Smiths Crisps and Doritos, we've called it a tie.
We've based our analysis on catalogues for Sydney, postcode 2000 - but be aware that catalogues in some states may differ.
