Astrologer's advice for finding the right job according to your star sign

The coronavirus crisis has had a devastating impact on employment in Australia, with even more job losses predicted later in the year with Job Keeper and Job Seeker payments run out.

According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) the unemployment rate is 7.1% - the highest since 2001, with the official jobless number standing at 927,600 (May 2020).

While job loss can cause fear in most, it can also provide us with an opportunity for a career reset.

Intuitive Astrologer Rose Smith says while many unemployed people were "taking what they could get" on the job front – it was important to prepare long-term, and star signs could help in finding the most suitable work.

"Although you can do short-term work if you've lost your job or out of work, the economic and employment ramifications from coronavirus will continue for year," she said. "Now is the time to get retrained or look to training opportunities which are aligned with your personality traits – you can have your astrology chart done to help with this."

She said star signs can help us find work that comes naturally to us, leading to a more enjoyable work situation.

"For example, if you are constantly having to be creative when you are not, being arty, crafty, musical, or artistic will start to annoy you as you can't maintain it over a long period as a job," she explained.

"Find out what your natural flow is, 'To thine own self be true' – this is so important," she said. "If you are young and you are not sure what you want to do, or you have spent your whole life doing something that doesn't suit you, it's also time to consider something else."

Smith said a good way to start is to "investigate your own sun sign, your ascendant and moon sign". This can be done with an ascendant or moon sign calculator.

"There are 12 signs in the zodiac, so lots of combinations," she said. "These will point out your main characteristics and values – things you see as important. Most computer programs work very well, by working out the positions of the planets and even asteroids.

"Astrology works – if you really want to find out what's going on fully, you need your place and time of birth."

Earth signs: Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn

Earth signs find their work particularly important, not only for the job itself, but also for the money. They are hardworking and responsible, getting the job done even through difficulties or hardship. Earth signs can do better than most in 2020 with their jobs.

Taurus Best Jobs:

·        Jobs in construction such as surveyor, builder, or project manager

·        Culinary career such as chef or restaurant manager

·        Managerial career in musical, theatre or acting industries such as concert promoter or casting or publicity agent

·        High paying positions where Taurus is in charge

Taurus Jobs to Avoid:

·        Jobs where other people often tell them what to do

·        Jobs where empathy is required such as counselling, welfare, or social work

·        Jobs in medical field dealing directly with sick people as bedside manner can need work
