Allison Langdon reflects on the best moment from her own wedding day

It was almost 10 years ago that Allison Langdon and Mike Willesee said “I do”.

While the 60 Minutes reporter and Weekend Today host jokes that her husband has taken the best years of her life, she fondly remembers her favourite moment from her Noosa nuptials.

“It was seeing my husband’s face when I arrived at the ceremony”, Allison tells 9Honey when we catch up in London where she is covering the Royal Wedding of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.

“I just remember getting out of the car, on dad’s arm, and just looking down and locking eyes with Mike.”

Having experienced this special moment first-hand, Allison say she really feels for Meghan Markle not getting to share this with her father.

Kensington Palace has recently confirmed that Meghan’s dad, Thomas Markle, will not be attending the wedding following heart surgery.

“There’s just something so special about having your dad give you away like that. And I just really feel for Meghan this week,” she tells 9Honey. “Not only is he not giving her away, but he’s not going to be with her. All the drama surrounding it has just been awful.”
