Alfie Evans' parents welcome baby son months after losing firstborn to rare illness

The parents of Alfie Evans, the terminally ill UK toddler at the centre of a legal fight over his life support, have welcomed a baby son four months after losing their firstborn.

Tom Evans and Kate James introduced baby Thomas to the world during an appearance on UK breakfast program This Morning, marvelling over his resemblance to his big brother.

“He’s the absolute double … sometimes you feel like Alfie is in him,” Kate tells hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.

Thomas’s arrival followed months of heartbreak for the Merseyside couple, whose firstborn battled a rare, degenerative neurological condition that has only recently been diagnosed.
