'The Lady in Blue': Chilling discovery made by family who purchased a 150-year-old funeral home to reside in

Just ask the Blumberg family – Heather, Arryn and their children Rafferty and Noa – who purchased an 1880s "Gothic mansion" to transform into their family dream home.

In an episode of We Bought A Funeral Home, which you can watch for free on 9Now, the family were visited by a former resident named Linda.

Her chilling story led to a shocking discovery about the property's history.

"I used to live here, back in 1946," Linda told the family, explaining that she was four at the time.

"That spiral staircase, right there at the stained glass window... that is where the 'Lady in Blue' appears. A friendly spirit."

She continued: "She was fair-haired, dressed in a long blue dress, and a little white dog. Never saw her anywhere else but in front of that stained glass window."

Heather was speechless, claiming that the centre of the staircase was the one place the family's dogs always barked.

"A lot of things have been going on in the house, paranormal wise," Noa explained. "I want to get to the bottom of it."

Noa researched the haunting history of the home's previous owners.

Ruling out the families that didn't pass away in the house, she was left with one family name: The Clarks.

The ghost in question she believed to be Gertrude B. Clark, who died at the bottom of that staircase in roughly 1936.

The Blumberg family were "astounded".

"What have you gotten us into?" Heather questioned her daughter.

"I found a ghost, an identity of a ghost," Noa said.

That's not the only supernatural encounter that happened.

Midway through their renovations, the family's contractor Dave claimed he unknowingly crossed a spirit of his own...

"I saw you on the side porch last night," Dave casually told Arryn one morning.

Arryn and Heather insisted it was impossible – access to the porch was blocked off.

"I'm serious, you were standing on the porch with your arms crossed," Dave said. "I'm not a big believer in ghosts, but I'm telling you someone was on your porch last night."

Arryn was not a big believer either. But when Noa did some further digging, she found a photo...
