Alligator in Florida caught scaling a fence at a naval station

We don't want to alarm you but apparently alligators can climb.

A gator in Jacksonville, Florida has been caught scaling a fence at the naval station in the city.

Yep, this happened.

After making a much more graceful landing than we expected, the gator coolly ambled off.

Alligators get just about everywhere in Florida.

On Thursday another intrusive reptile was filmed swimming in a giant puddle in the middle of an intersection during a downpour in St. Petersburg. Facebook user Roger Light Jr. caught it on video.

But it isn't just alligators that cause a nuisance.

Their cousins,  saltwater crocodiles, have been known to cause some drama in the Northern Territory, Western Australia and northern Queensland.

Earlier this month a four metre "saltie" had to be relocated in the Northern Territory after it was found lurking by a boat ramp where people washed dishes.

While in March a 600kg  crocodile which "ate dogs" had to be held in a Northern Territory jail cell.
