Cultural fusion can give us some wonderful things.

Take for example bahn mi thit, which combines delightful French baguettes and with Vietnamese salad and tasty, tasty pork.

Delicious.

It can also give birth to something like nugget nachos, a little-known dish that combines America's love of deep-frying processed meats with the zingy freshness of Mexican nachos.

Depending on who you ask, these blends are either glorious or deeply unnecessary.

This same principal applies to the team of Scottish rugby players who learned the traditional Māori haka to perform at their rugby-mad mate's wedding.

The boys from the Garnock Rugby Club spent a good six weeks learning the New Zealand war dance for Graeme Reid.

His bride Alyson had organised a rugby-themed wedding, and so asked the team to perform it as a nod to the traditions of the Rugby World Cup.

Footage of them performing the dance at the reception in Balloch's Butorich Castle is going viral, being picked up by news sites the world over after being featured by the UK's Daily Record.

UK journalist Christina O'Neill reported the couple "fell in love with" New Zealand after travelling there for the 2011 Rugby World Cup.

They loved it so much; the pair lived there for a year.

So they were stoked with the performance.

It was an unusual mix of kilts and the sounds that signal big units in black jerseys are about to smash people on the rugby field.

We're not sure how we feel about the whole thing, given the significance of the ancient Māori war dance.

According to the New Zealand government's tourism website, "the words of a haka often poetically describe ancestors and events in the tribe's history".

"Today, haka are still used during Māori ceremonies and celebrations to honour guests and show the importance of the occasion," the website continues.

"This includes family events, like birthdays and weddings."
