VIDEO: Savage dog ignores owner crying in back of police car

This has to be the best few seconds of reality television ever.

What you're about to see is the definition of savage, delivered by the American trashy TV institution that is Cops.

Rascal, a fox terrier with a stone cold heart, was brought to see its whimpering owner crying in the back of a police car.

And Rascal's reaction to the situation is making the icy terrier a viral superstar.

This golden television moment was uploaded to the Cops YouTube channel back in October last year, but it wasn't until May when it started attracting the attention it deserved.

Now it has notched up more than 150,000 views.

Deputy Derek Nielsen, who appeared in the scene, classed the incident as domestic violence.

The brother was accused of attempting to break into his sister's home using a screw driver.

He had been "kicked out of the house" about two months prior.

Officers charged him with trespassing and malicious mischief.

After he was handcuffed and restrained in the back of the police vehicle, the brother broke down in tears, telling officers, "I just want to see my dog, dude".

So Nielsen, trying to be a nice guy, decided to bring the woofer in question to the accused, allowing him to say a last goodbye before going to jail.

"I didn't think it was going to do any harm," he said.

HAH.

What ended up happening was perhaps the lowest point of this man's life.

Because if you looked up "cold" in the dictionary, it would include a picture of Rascal.

Rascal doesn't give a hoot about the sobbing man in handcuffs.

Rascal doesn't even make eye contact.

And it all played out on national television. Brilliant.
