Ultimate influencer? This alien view is simply out of this world

The Mars Curiosity Rover has bid a dramatic farewell to a region it has been exploring for more than a year, with a vista shot that would shame the most avid Instagrammer.

The NASA rover was exploring Vera Rubin Ridge on Mars's Mount Sharp, but has now descended to a region with the somewhat less striking name of "the clay-bearing unit".

But before the rover descended the summit, it took the time to pause atop Vera Rubin Ridge - named for a ground-breaking US astronomer - and took a 360-degree photo of the view.

And despite said view being of a bunch of barren rocks, it's pretty impressive.
