Cyclists’ high-speed close call with scampering deer captured on camera

This is definitely something you don’t see every day.

Two South Australian cyclists have been given quite the shock while on a high-speed ride through the Adelaide Hills.

While coming around a bend, one of the rider’s rear-facing camera captured the moment a large deer leapt out in front of his friend’s bike to cross the road.

With the second cyclist just metres away, the animal was at full-stretch as it scampered across the pavement and managed to miss colliding with the bike before it jolted up an embankment.

About 10,000 deer are believed to currently live among South Australia’s forestland.
