Anyone who says that Antiques Roadshow is boring needs a good slap across the face.

It's a clip from the US incarnation of the powerhouse institution, presented by PBS, from April last year.

Peter Planes brought in his old Rolex, which he bought while in the US army in 1960.

He was expecting the valuation would be along the lines $1500.

But woooooo Nelly did he underestimate.

The appraised value of this timepiece not only left old mate speechless and a little teary, it also demonstrates why this this show is so damn fantastic.

And finally people are catching on.

In the past few days, the views have gone from a humble few thousand to an obscene hike, notching up almost 1.8 million views.

Roughly one million of those views have been in the past week.

All up, it has been watched enough times to make up eight years.
