Ingham man responds to the far north Queensland floods in the most Aussie way imaginable

Ah, far north Queensland.

No matter what Mother Nature decides to hurl their way, the fine people at the tip of the sunshine state always find a way to have a laugh.

Cue this bloke, who decided to make the most of the rising floodwaters in Ingham.

Shot by Myriam Godfrey, the clip shows this Aussie takin’ it easy, wetting a line from the roof, stubby in hand.

That’s the spirit.

The northern end of the state is facing a massive clean-up effort after it was drenched by heavy rainfall, with more rain being forecast.

And as flood waters begin to recede, locals are being urged to be alert for displaced crocs.

They’re also being reminded to avoid driving into flood waters.

Of course, this wouldn’t be a classic ‘Straya yarn without a comically-over-sized insect, so we feel compelled to show you this bonkers video of a spider caught up in the floods:

The clip was shot by Andrea Gofton in Halifax, northeast of Ingham, and went viral after being posted to Facebook on Sunday.   

As 9News understands, that whopper was rescued by a very, very brave person and rehomed in an avocado tree.
