Man breaks up lion fight armed only with a shoe

Okay put yourself in this situation: so you’re in a lion enclosure.

The lions start getting cranky.

You’ve got to break up a fight before it gets nasty.

What do you arm yourself with to help you?

Well, if you’re Oleg Zubkov, you’re just going to go with a shoe.

A single shoe.

Zubkov, the director of Taygan safari park in Crimea, was filmed stalking into the fray like a disappointed dad.

"I will spank you!" he shouts at them.

He stops, takes the shoe off his foot and lets them have it.

Apparently intimidated by Zubkov's footwear, they scatter like scared kittens.

Obviously, we’re in no way condoning throwing shoes at lions, wild or tame.

No matter how stanky you shoes may be, we reckon it will to sweet-fudge-all at protecting you from a lion attack.
