Gruesome shark head prank on NSW rescue volunteers

Volunteers who help stricken sailors were shocked to find a shark head impaled on their fence.
Marine Rescue NSW crews at Shellharbour, south of Wollongong NSW came across the severed mako shark head when they arrived for duties on Saturday.
Unit Commander Richard O’Connor told nine.com.au it was a shock for his team.
"It was pretty daunting for the crew to come in and see the shark’s head on the fence," he said.

"We’ve got a great boating community.
"We think it was in poor taste.
"It’s something we don’t need to turn up to when our volunteers put their lives on the line."
A post by the organisation on Facebook, said: "How NOT to treat a volunteer emergency service.

"Marine Rescue Shellharbour crews arrived for duty Saturday to find a shark’s head impaled on the base fence.
"It’s a kick in the guts for our committed volunteers who give up their time to save lives on the water."
Comments from followers called the prank "totally disrespectful" and "disgusting".
