Look, it's not the Bruce Willis in The Sixth Sense level twist, but it's something you didn't expect nonetheless.

It was posted to Imgur by user iwasdoingfinelurking on Tuesday with the very appropriate caption "I did not see that coming".

In less than 24 hours the clip notched up more than 1.1 million views.

These days we’re reasonably sceptical of a "wait for it" equivalent.

We're been around long enough to know how disappointing the world can be.

The collective experiences of our sad little lives have led us to expect the underwhelming and to anticipate being made to look the fool.

And it seems as is the entire internet was of the ilk. 

But golly gee, here's something that has gone and fooled us all… by actually delivering on its promise.
