Exclusive: Delta Goodrem's heartfelt commitment to spreading kindness this Christmas
Delta Goodrem has unveiled a heartwarming initiative to encourage acts of kindness in the lead-up to Christmas.
In an exclusive interview with 9Entertainment, Goodrem spoke on The Delta Goodrem Foundation's new Community of Kindness Christmas Campaign, which aims to inspire people across Australia to brighten someone's day with a small gesture.
"The Delta Goodrem Foundation is about inspiring hearts and touching lives," Goodrem beamed. "All people have to do is a little act of kindness, just the tiniest thing.
"Buying a stranger a coffee, mow your neighbour's lawn, tell someone you love them or showing them in a Love Actually way."
She explained how the mission began with her personal journey and experiences with the incredible doctors at St. Vincent's Hospital Sydney.

Goodrem has partnered with the hospital to help fund scientists and researchers focused on finding a cure for blood cancers, with an emphasis on cellular therapy.
Many Australians remember Goodrem's own difficult battle with cancer in 2003, after being diagnosed with Hodgkins lymphoma at the age of 18.
The beauty of the campaign is in its simplicity.
People can participate by taking a photo or video of their act of kindness and sharing it on The Delta Goodrem Foundation website.
Goodrem plans to highlight some of these photos and videos on her upcoming Christmas with Delta special, which airs on December 17 on Channel 9 and 9Now.
The Community of Kindness Christmas Campaign, made possible with the kind support of Aldi, was inspired by a realisation Goodrem had during her Innocent Eyes tour.

Earlier this year, Goodrem toured the world celebrating 20 years since the release of her debut studio album.

On tour, Goodrem observed how people were posting photos and spreading love, which inspired her to create a program encouraging acts of kindness.
"Leading into Christmas, let's just build this support of how can we as a community come together, encouraging more and more people to be a part of this," Goodrem added.

The campaign doesn't seek mammoth gestures; it's about encouraging people to spread kindness in their own unique ways.

This year marks the fourth annual Christmas with Delta, and the singer promises "a few extra little surprises" to make it even more special.

The Community of Kindness Christmas Campaign, as Delta mentions, is a gift to herself and her musician fiancé Matthew Copley.
Copley popped the question while the pair were on holiday in Malta in September 2023.

"I did actually realise that The Innocent Eyes Tour was a total national engagement party," Goodrem jokes of her most recent world tour, which just wrapped up in Australia.

"I felt like I was celebrating with everybody going to each city and feeling the love. It's wonderful to share [the engagement] with everybody.
"It just feels like a real celebration".
