Man marks new school year by putting up an electric fence to keep kids off his lawn

A man has celebrated the start of the US school year by erecting an electric fence around his yard.

The bloke, a man called Byran Tucker, was fed up with those blasted kids making a mess.

His place, in the Henrico County area, is just by a bus stop used by children to catch a ride to school.

And Tucker has had a bloody gut full of the kids mucking up his lawn.

In an interview with WTVR  journo Shelby Brown, he accused them of littering and loitering, and it was really getting up his goat.

So he strung up an electric fence to keep the little snots out.

Of course, a story like this quickly clocked up a lot of attention online.

The local parents weren’t pleased, but some people could see Trucker’s point of view.

“I'm not in charge of other people's children,” he told Kristin Smith in a report for WRIC news.

“I'm not directing people's children what to do.

“All I can do is protect myself and that's why I've got a fence up.”

However, the electric fence had no signage warning people it was dangerous.

After parents called police, the local council determined the fence was on public property.

Turns out the strip where the bus stop was located wasn’t even his yard, so he was ordered to take his fence down.

Vision of a defeated Tucker taking down the fence, which you can see above, was captured by WTVR cameras.

It’s pretty darn entertaining.
