Lulu the labrador drops out of elite CIA bomb squad to live her best life

Meet Lulu, the CIA dropout who has captured the hearts of millions.

Lulu was one of six dogs selected join the highly-elite, all-female bomb detection squad to undergo training with experts at the Criminal Intelligence Agency in the US. 

She was selected out of a bunch of hopefuls and her future with the agency looked promising.

She was the smallest dog in the class, joining at one-and-a-half years old.

"She's hyper and silly when she plays, but has an easy going sweetness and is extremely sensitive to her surroundings and what is being asked of her," her profile reads.

But even though she had the right stuff for the job, it seems it just wasn't for her.

Over its official Twitter account, the CIA announced that Lulu was leaving the program.

And while this was sad news, it earned Lulu many fans.

The tweet was liked more than 6000 times and Lulu featured on viral news sites around the world.

"Even when they could motivate her with food and play to search, she was clearly not enjoying herself any longer," an official statement from the CIA said.

"It's imperative that the dogs enjoy the job they're doing.

"Our trainers' top concern is the physical and mental well-being of our dogs, so they made the extremely difficult decision to do what's best for Lulu and drop her from the program."

But it's not that she was a failure, it just wasn't her passion.

Her heart just wasn't in detecting explosives.

They were sad to let her go, but it was for the best:

And don't worry; Lulu has a very lovely life.

"She now enjoys her days playing with his kids, sniffing out rabbits and squirrels in the backyard, and eating meals and snacks out of a dog dish," we're told.
