Disney slipped a cheeky Harry Potter reference into Beauty and the Beast

Disney's live action Beauty and Beast has a cheeky Harry Potter reference in the opening scene and we have mixed feelings about it.

Disney has released a short clip featuring the first few verses of the classic bonjour song which appeared in the original film.

It features a line that bears a striking resemblance to a line on Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, which, in case you didn't know, Emma Watson had something to do with.

It seems everyone on Twitter did.

And don't get us wrong, we love self-aware movie references within movies, and we especially love Harry Potter references.

But in order to fit in this interaction, they had to cut the line from the baker in the original film.

And if you're anything like us, you know the original film word-for-word so when there's an omission, it sticks out.

You can feel something missing, and it's jarring.

If for some reason you don't know the line we're referring to, it's the "Maree, the baguettes! Hurry up!" line.

Look, we'll admit that it's not a pivotal line but it's still missing and that hurts.

It's kiiiiind of disappointing, especially when there are a stack of better Harry Potter references they could have used.

A cheeky "swish and flick" or a simple "you stepped on my foot" inserted into the right scenario would have been gold.

But this is only a little snippet, so maybe there might be more HP references weaved in.
