Delta Goodrem reveals what to expect from her upcoming TV special Christmas with Delta

You've put up the Christmas tree, hung up your lights and even finished your gift shopping (yes, wishful thinking but Christmas is about optimism).

But there's another way to get into the festive spirit in the lead-up to Santa's annual visit, and that's by watching Christmas with Delta, a special television event airing on Saturday, December 12 at 7.30pm in Nine and 9Now.

"Christmas with Delta is all heart," Delta Goodrem told 9Entertainment. "It comes from a place of understanding what we've gone through this year and truly a dream come true to be able to sing with artists that I've always dreamed of singing with."

Delta referred to the Christmas special as her very own Christmas present, which will see the Aussie artist sing songs from her brand new Christmas album, Only Santa Knows.

Alongside Delta, there will be multiple appearances from well-known artists, including Olivia Newton-John, Kylie Minogue, Robbie Williams, Kelly Rowland, Pentatonix, Morgan Evans, Sheppard, Montaigne and Hugh Sheridan.

"It's so busy for everybody but to take the time to be a part of Christmas with Delta… I'm so, so excited for people to see," Delta said.

Speaking of her new album, Delta revealed Only Santa Knows is filled with "as much Christmas tinsel as possible".

"I've got the orchestra. I've got the kids' choir. I've got the gospel choir. I've got two originals. I've got the iconic Olivia Newton-John and it's really just an album that makes you have all the different feelings for Christmas," she said, before revealing her favourite song from the album.

"Definitely 'Only Santa Knows' because it's an original and it's about my belief in Christmas spirit, but otherwise I love a bit of 'Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree'."

The 36-year-old revealed she came up with 'Only Santa Knows' by sharing her belief in Christmas spirit.

"I love the feeling in the air at Christmas time I feel that people have a moment to reflect on, 'Oh that's a years gone by', and we can stop our work for a minute and just celebrate being with family and friends.

Delta partnered with Tourism Australia, with the star giving back to deserving Australians during the television special.

"What a better gift than a holiday in our own backyard in the most beautiful country in the world," she said.

Delta's Christmas album, Only Santa Knows, is available to purchase or download here, with a vinyl copy of the album due for release on December 11.
