Deer rescued by police after getting stuck in a fence

Of all the uncomfortable situations you found find yourself in, being-stuck-between-two-fence palings is probably right up there with the worst.

So we really feel for this poor little fawn, who got into a bit of a pickle in Eugene, in the US state of Oregon.

We mean, this does not look like a good time:

As we read in a yarn from Everton Bailey Jr on Oregon Live, the poor deer was spotted by a mother who was walking by with her kids.

When it became clear the fawn was stuck tight, she called police to help out.

It’s believed the deer was trying to jump the fence but didn’t quite clear it.

Animal welfare officer Shawni McLaughlin donned gloves, grabbed a towel and carefully yanked (neat use of oxymoron?) the little cutie out.

The Eugene Police Department published body cam footage of the rescue last week, with the original video clocking up nearly 6000 views over the weekend.

Thankfully, the fella little was able to scamper off after the rescue.
