Danish boys' choir tries to sing Christmas carol after eating ghost peppers

You may love your Christmas carols, but we're going to bet you're not as committed to carols as much as these lads.

They're members of Denmark's Herning Boys Choir and they're pretty good at busting out a Christmas tune.

So committed are they to spreading festive cheer that they kept on singing despite chowing down on ghost chilli peppers during their performance.

That's some Christmas spirit right there.

This bizarre and wildly unnecessary stunt was orchestrated by a Dinish bloke known as Chilli Klaus who describes himself as a "comedian, musician and chili enthusiast" on his YouTube channel.

From having a gander at his website, he flogs chilli products that you'd expect to see in some exxy pre-packaged Christmas hamper that looks nice in the basket but will probably sit at the back of the pantry for the next four years.

He used to be a member of the choir and tells us that he wanted to go back to "add a little extra passion to the music".

And for some reason that involves giving dozens of boys one of the hottest chilli peppers in the world.

To their credit, they managed to get through the whole song without running around screaming for a glass of milk.

Video of the fiery performance posted to the Chili Klaus YouTube Facebook page last week, clocked up nearly 900,000 views.

The clip clocked up a further 500,000 views on YouTube, and it attracted more than 40,000 upvotes on Reddit.

We just hope the staggering amount of attention the video attracted was worth all the pain for the choir.
