Zac Efron has reportedly been spotted in Byron Bay by a number of Aussies

Zac Efron is rumoured to be secretly living in Byron Bay.

The 32-year-old actor has reportedly been spotted in the NSW coastal town by Aussie fans amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Though there are no photos confirming this, there have been several apparent "sightings" of the High School Musical star at various cafes and restaurants in Byron Bay. One woman claims to have seen him at the Byron Bay General Store cafe.

"Don't mean to alarm anyone but Zac Efron was literally eating at the same cafe as me when this was taken," wrote influencer Tarsha Whitmore three days ago on Instagram.

Last week, a Twitter user shared similar news.

"So my sister just told me that Zac Efron is in Byron Bay," they tweeted.

9Honey Celebrity has reached out to Whitmore and the Byron Bay General Store for comment.

Byron Bay is a hotspot for A-listers, including Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky who have a home there.

Efron was last photographed in Los Angeles in late January. A few weeks ago, his High School Musical co-stars reunited via video link for a rendition of their hit song 'We're All In This Together' but Efron was unavailable due to "bad wifi".

It's possible Efron was already in Australia when the borders were closed. As of today, Australia has had 7,459 confirmed cases of COVID-19 while the US has had 2.32 million.

Efron has visited Australia many times. He was confirmed to be Down Under in December, when he was flown to Brisbane for medical attention after getting an infection while filming a TV show in Papua New Guinea.

"I did get sick in Papua New Guinea but I bounced back quick and finished an amazing three weeks in P.N.G," he later shared on Instagram.
