Efron previously told Entertainment Tonight that he "almost died" after injuring his jaw during an unfortunate at-home accident.

"It sucks. I almost died, but we're good," he said.

His changed appearance, due to the injury, led to rumours and speculation that he'd had plastic surgery. His jaw had to be wired shut following the incident.

Zac Efron sparked surgery rumours after appearing in this Facebook Watch video to promote Earth Day in 2021.
