EXCLUSIVE: Spin Out star Xavier Samuel is a secret Dawson's Creek fan, morphs into Capeside heartthrob

The air was thick with nostalgia when Spin Out stars Xavier Samuel and Morgan Griffin sat down with TheFIX this week.

After chatting about cars, country parties, and first kisses, we couldn't ignore the '90s elephant in the room any longer.

Xavier Samuel currently has perfect, flowy Dawson Leery hair.

The realisation came on the heels of the duo telling TheFIX's Ashley Spencer that their first TV obsession was…DAWSON'S CREEK. Coincidence, Xavier? We think not.

Consider this our unofficial campaign for an Aussie Dawson's reboot starring these two, please.

At the moment, these crazy kids are headlining the new rom-com Spin Out as country Victoria pals who love nothing more than doing burn-outs in their utes and hitting up B&S parties.

"I had never driven a ute before," Morgan, 24, said. And while she went rogue and bought one after filming, the Sydneysider has come to regret it. "I mean, I love my car but I live in the city," she added. "So it's not really the most practical thing."

Meanwhile, Xavier, 32, gave two thumbs up to country bashes, even if he's fuzzy on the details.

"You're not supposed to remember the greatest parties," he said. "Isn't that how it works?"

Zing!

The actors have a slew of impressive past projects to their names: Xavier co-starred in Sundance 2016 standout Love and Friendship opposite Kate Beckinsale, while Morgan stole scenes with The Rock in San Andreas.

That's all fine and good, but they also lay claim to a pair of deliciously teeny-bopper breakouts. Remember Riley the victim-turned-vampire in 2010's The Twilight Saga: Eclipse? That's Xavier! And precocious Charlie in Australian tween staple The Sleepover Club? That's Morgan!

So, were they fans of each other's pre-fame work?

"I read the [Twilight] books in high school," Morgan admitted.

"You had the pillowcases and the lunch boxes and everything?" Xavier shot back, a twinkle in his eye. (Sadly, Morgan did not.)

As did Xavier religiously watch 2006's The Sleepover Club: "I can't say that I did," the Adelaide-raised actor said squarely.

Sure, sure.
